Use Lumen® Edge Service Manager to create a blueprint layout used to make instances available for provisioning and to preconfigure attributes for the instance. Depending on the technology selected for the instance, you may need to create specification templates.
Note:Library tab functionality is only available for AWS (Amazon Web Services) and Azure cloud providers.
Click Library, click Blueprints, then click Layouts.
The Edge Service Manager shows the layouts created for your organization.
The Edge Service Manager shows the New Layout window.
In the New Layout window, complete the following fields:
Select an instance type for the blueprint layout.
Type a unique identifier for the layout.
Type a name or code for the version of this blueprint layout. This version is used when provisioning an instance.
Type a brief description for this layout.
Select this option to make this layout available at the time of provisioning.
Select the technology for the instance.
Additional fields appear based on your selection.
Type an amount of memory and select MB (megabytes) or GB (gigabytes) to set the minimum memory for the instance.
Select the provisioning workflow to assign to this layout.
SUPPORTS CONVERT TO MANAGED
Select this option for the Edge Service Manager to onboard any resources that reside in the cloud such as virtual machines. The Edge Service Manager checks these instances at the time the cloud is integrated. Every five minutes, these resources are checked for added or removed servers and the instance updates accordingly.
ENABLE SCALING (HORIZONTAL)
Select this option to distribute additional server loads across multiple nodes.
Environment variables are customized fields used to store data which exists outside of the default fields in the layout form. Type the name of the field in the Name field, type the data in the Value field, and then click the icon and select masked (sensitive data) or exportable (data that can be exported from the Edge Service Manager and stored in the instance record). To add another environment variable, click the icon.
Type the names of inputs to be used by this layout. The autocomplete field enables you to choose inputs as you type.
Type the names of nodes associated with this layout. The autocomplete field enables you to choose nodes as you type. Blueprint layouts can have multiple nodes.
Type the names of the spec templates to assign to this blueprint layout. The autocomplete field enables you to choose a template as you type. Blueprint layouts can have multiple spec templates.
Click SAVE CHANGES.
The Edge Service Manager creates the blueprint layout.
