Lumen help
Use Lumen® Edge Service Manager to create a cluster layout used to make instance clusters available for provisioning and to preconfigure attributes for the instance clusters. After you create a cluster layout, you can use it in combination with a spec template to create instances. You can clone or edit details for a cluster layout. If you no longer need a cluster layout, you can delete it.
Note: Library tab functionality is only available for AWS (Amazon Web Services) and Azure cloud providers.
To create a cluster layout:
Field | Description |
NAME | Type a unique identifier for the cluster layout. |
VERSION | Type a name or code for the version of the cluster layout. This version is used when provisioning an instance. |
DESCRIPTION | Type a brief description for the cluster layout. |
CREATABLE | Select this option to make the cluster layout available at the time of provisioning. |
CLUSTER TYPE | Select the cluster type to create for the instance. |
TECHNOLOGY | Select the technology for the instance. |
MINIMUM MEMORY | Type an amount of memory and select MB (megabytes) or GB (gigabytes) to set the minimum memory for the instance. |
WORKFLOW | Select the provisioning workflow to assign to the layout. |
ENABLE SCALING (HORIZONTAL) | Select the checkbox to distribute additional server loads across multiple nodes. |
INSTALL DOCKER | Select the checkbox to install the Docker platform for the instance. |
LVM ENABLED | Select the checkbox to enable Logical Volume Management (LVM). This option creates logical volumes instead of traditional partitions. |
ENVIRONMENT VARIABLES | Environment variables are customized fields used to store data that exists outside of the default fields in the layout form. Type the name of the field in the Name field, type the data in the Value field, and then click the icon and select masked (sensitive data) or exportable (data that can be exported from the Edge Service Manager and stored in the instance record). To add another environment variable, click the icon. |
Inputs | Type the names of inputs to be used by the layout. The Edge Service Manager filters the list as you type. You can remove an input by clicking the X. Cllick and drag the three lines next to the input name to arrange the inputs in a specified order. |
Master Nodes | Type the version of Kubernetes Master to identify the node configuration of the master node in a cluster. The Edge Service Manager filters the list as you type. |
Worker Nodes | Type the version of Kubernetes Worker to identify the node configuration of the worker nodes in a cluster. The Edge Service Manager filters the list as you type. |
Spec Templates | Type the name of the spec template to assign to the cluster layout. The Edge Service Manager filters the list as you type. |
