Executing an automated task

Use Lumen® Edge Service Manager to execute automated tasks on instances. You can create provisioning workflows to have a sequence of tasks automatically executed when an instance is in specified phases. You can create an operational workflow to combine tasks in one group and execute the operational workflow as needed. 

To execute an automated task:

  1. Click Library, click Automation, then click Tasks.

    The Edge Service Manager shows the tasks created for your organization.

  1. Select the task you want to execute.

    The Edge Service Manager shows the task detail page.
  1. Click Execute.

    The Execute Workflow? window appears.

  1. In the Execute Task? window, complete the following fields:
Field Description
CONTEXT TYPE Select Instance.
CONTEXT INSTANCE Type the name of the instance.
  1. If the task has the Allow Custom Config option enabled extend the Advanced Options section, and then type custom configurations for the task.
  1. Click EXECUTE.

    The Edge Service Manager executes the task on the instance.
