To create and use Chef bootstrap tasks, you must first integrate a Chef account into Lumen® Edge Service Manager. Before you can integrate a Chef account, you must create a Chef managed account in public Chef management. Be sure to retain the RSA PRIVATE KEY provided to you while creating the Chef managed account. You will need this to integrate your Chef account into the Edge Service Manager.
To integrate a Chef account:
Field | Description |
NAME | Type a unique name for the Chef integration. |
ENABLED | Select this option to enable the integration. This checkbox is selected by default. Unselect this option to disable the integration. |
CHEF ENDPOINT | Type the URL of the Chef server API endpoint. This field defaults to the public chef management URL. |
CHEF VERSION | Select the version of Chef to use. This field defaults to the recent version. |
CHEF WINDOWS VERSION | This field defaults to the recent version. |
CHEF WINDOWS MSI | This field defaults to public chef management repository. |
CHEF ORGANIZATION | Type the name of the organization created in the Chef public management account. |
CHEF USER | Type the name of the user created in the Chef public management account. |
USE FQDN NODE NAME | Select this option to use the fully qualified domain name (FQDN) for the Chef integration. |
USER PRIVATE KEY | Type or paste the RSA PRIVATE KEY that you copied during the creation of the chef public management account. |
ORGANIZATION VALIDATOR | Type or paste the RSA PRIVATE KEY in this field again. |
DATABAG KEY PATH | Type the data bag key path for the data bag location. Data bags store global variables as JSON data. |
DATABAG KEY | Type the data bag key to access the data bag. |
