Editing a monitoring group

Use Lumen® Edge Service Manager to edit the name, minimum number of checks, and maximum severity level of a monitor group. You can also view a list of your current monitoring groups, create a new monitoring group, and view details for each specific monitoring group created for your organization. You can mute and unmute a monitoring group to change its affect on open incidents and delete a monitoring group you no longer need.

To edit a monitoring group:

  1. Click Monitoring, then click Groups.

    The Edge Service Manager shows the monitoring groups created for your organization.

  1. Click EDIT.

  1. In the Edit Group window, edit the following fields:
Field name  Description
NAME Type a name for the monitor in this field.
MIN CHECKS Type the minimum number of checks within the group that must be happy to keep the group from becoming unhealthy. 
MAX SEVERITY This field represents maximum severity a failed check can create. Select Critical, Warning, or Info.
AFFECTS AVAILABILITY Select the checkbox if the failed group monitor impacts system-wide availability.
ADD A CHECK Type the name of a created check to add it to the group. Added checks show in the Checks field.
CHECKS This displays the checks organized within the group.
  1. When you are done, click SAVE CHANGES.

    The Edge Service Manager edits the monitoring group.
