Editing a bare metal server

Use Lumen® Edge Service Manager to edit details, such as name and description, for a bare metal server created for your organization. You can view details for a bare metal server. If you no longer need a bare metal server, you can delete it from the Edge Service Manager.

To edit a bare metal server:

  1. Click Provisioning, then click Instances.

    The Edge Service Manager shows the instances created for your organization.

  1. Click the row for the bare metal server you want to work with.

    The Edge Service Manager shows details for the bare metal server you selected. Details vary based on the type of instance and your assigned role.

  1. Click EDIT.

    The Edge Service Manager shows the Edit Instance window.

  1. In the Edit Instance window, edit the following fields:

 Description
NAME Type a unique name for the instance.
DESCRIPTION Type a unique description for the instance.
ENVIRONMENT Select an environment. The environment provides segmentation of bare metal server groups across environments.

The Environments section is where environment labels are created and managed. They are available in the environment list during instance or app provisioning.
GROUP Select a group associated with the bare metal server that is also linked to that server's cloud.
TAGS Type a unique tag name and value to each bare metal server for tracking purposes. 
LABELS Type a label for instance task organization. This label appears in the bare metal server description on the Instances page.
POWER SCHEDULE Select the power schedule for the instance.
  1. Click SAVE CHANGES.

    The Edge Service Manager saves changes to the bare metal server.
