Use the Edge Services portal to create a security group for your instance such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Azure. Security groups determine incoming and outgoing traffic for an instance. For example, you can create a security group for an instance to only allow secure website connections. After you create security groups, you can add, edit, and delete security group rules and add or remove them on instances. You can also view details about, edit, and delete a security group.
To create a security group for an instance:
Field | Description |
NAME | Type a name for the security group. |
DESCRIPTION | Type a description for the security group. |
SCOPED CLOUD | Select a cloud to allow the security group to be used only for that cloud. To allow the security group to be used for all clouds, select All. The VPC or RESOURCE GROUP fields appear based on your cloud type and selection. |
VPC | Select the virtual private cloud (VPC) associated with the SCOPED CLOUD for the security group. This option is only available for Amazon Web Services (AWS). |
RESOURCE GROUP | Select the resource group associated with the SCOPED CLOUD for the security group. This option is only available for Azure. |
ACTIVE | Select this option to activate the security group. |
