Use the Edge Services portal to create an Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud. Before creating the AWS cloud, you must set up permissions for identity and access management (IAM) in your AWS account. When you create an AWS cloud, it creates a link to your existing AWS account, enabling you to provision an AWS instance. After you create the cloud, you can view details and perform actions such editing or deleting.
To create an AWS cloud:
Field | Description |
NAME | Type a unique name for the AWS cloud. |
CODE | Type a unique identifier to be used by the API. |
LOCATION | Type a description of the AWS cloud in relation to your organization. |
REGION | Select the geographic region where the AWS cloud is located. |
CREDENTIALS | Select access key and secret key. |
ACCESS KEY | Enter the access key you received from Amazon when you created your AWS account. |
SECRET KEY | Enter the secret key you received from Amazon when you created your AWS account. |
USE HOST IAM CREDENTIALS | Select this option to use the host identity and access management (IAM) credentials. |
ROLE ARN | Enter the Amazon Resource Name (ARN) you received when you created your AWS account. |

Type the name of the Amazon Simple Storage System (S3) container used for image transfers. |

Type the costing secret key you received from Amazon when you created your AWS account. |
LINKED ACCOUNT ID |
Type the AWS account number that the IAM user resides in if the IAM user for this AWS cloud does not have access to the S3 bucket with cost and usage report (CUR) data. |
DOMAIN |
Select localdomain. |
APPLIANCE URL |
Type the alternate appliance URL used for installing the agent and reporting. This is used when the default appliance URL is not reachable for instances provisioned for this AWS cloud. |
TIME ZONE |
Select your time zone. |
DATACENTER ID |
Type the datacenter ID only if pricing differentiation is set up in your AWS account. |
NETWORK MODE |
Select Unmanaged. |
LOCAL FIREWALL |
Select On if you have set up a managed host and VM firewall or IP Table rules in your AWS account. |
SECURITY SERVER |
Select Off. |
TRUST PROVIDER |
Select Internal. |
STORAGE MODE |

Select Internal Backups. |
REPLICATION PROVIDER |
Select None. |
