Use the Edge Services portal to create tasks that automatically send emails to notify you of changes or updates to your Amazon Web Services (AWS) account. Email automation is triggered by events such as an instance being updated or configurations being changed.
You can execute your automated task as a single task or combine it as part of an operational or provisioning workflow.
Note: Library tab functionality is only available for AWS (Amazon Web Services) and Azure cloud providers.
To create an automated email task:
Field | Description |
NAME | Type a unique name for the task. |
CODE | Type a unique identifier to be used by AWS automation. |
TYPE | Select Email. |
EMAIL ADDRESS | Type either the email address of a specific recipient or use automation variables such as <%=instance.createdByEmail%>. Automation variables insert data directly into the email form. |
SUBJECT | Type either the subject to be used by all emails or use automation variables such as <%=container.hostname%>. |
SOURCE | Select one of the following options:

CONTENT | If Local is selected in the Source field, type the email message and includ automation variables. If other options are selected, this field is unavailable. |
SKIP WRAPPED EMAIL TEMPLATE | Select this option to ignore email templates and only use HTML in the Content field. |
EXECUTE TARGET | Select Local. |
