Creating an operational workflow

Use the Edge Services portal to create operational workflows made of automated tasks in a sequential order. You can execute operational workflows to perform a set of automated tasks on an instance. You can individually execute tasks.

To create an operational workflow:

  1. Click Library, click Automation, then click Workflows.

    The Edge Services portal shows the workflows created for your organization.

  1. Click +ADD, then click Operational Workflow. 

    The Edge Services portal shows the New Workflow window.

  1. In the New Workflow window, complete the following fields:
Field Description
NAME Type a unique name for the workflow.
DESCRIPTION Type a brief description of the workflow.
PLATFORM Select the platform to run the workflow on. 
TASKS Type the names of tasks to be used by this workflow. The autocomplete fields enable you to choose tasks as you type. 
INPUTS Type the names of inputs to be used by this workflow. The autocomplete fields enable you to choose inputs as you type. 
VISIBILITY Select Public. 
ALLOW CUSTOM CONFIG  Select this option to enable a special text field for a JSON map of key-value pairs during the execution process.
  1. Click SAVE CHANGES.

    The Edge Services portal creates the operational workflow.
