Adding or removing a security group on an instance

Use the Edge Services portal to add or remove a security group on a provisioned Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Azure instance. Security groups determine incoming and outgoing traffic for an instance. For example, you can add a security group to an instance to only allow secure website connections. You can add as many of the available security groups as you want. If needed, add, edit, and delete security group rules. You can also view details about, edit, create, or delete a security group.

Adding a security group to an instance

To add a security group to an instance:

  1. Click Provisioning, then click Instances.

    The Edge Services portal shows the instances created for your organization.

  1. Click an instance to view more information. 
     
    The Edge Services portal shows details for the instance you selected. Details vary based on the type of instance and your role.

  1. Select the Network tab.

  1. Expand the SECURITY GROUPS section, then click EDIT SECURITY GROUPS.

    The Edit Security Groups window appears.

  1. In the Edit Security Groups window, type the name of a security group, then select the security group.

Note: The Edge Services portal filters the results as you type. For example, type a and security groups with a in the title appear for selection.

  1. Click SAVE.

    The Edge Services portal adds the security group on the instance.

Removing a security group from an instance

To remove a security group from an instance:

  1. Click Provisioning, then click Instances.

    The Edge Services portal shows the instances created for your organization.

  1. Select the Network tab.

  1. Expand the SECURITY GROUPS section, then click EDIT SECURITY GROUPS.

    The Edit Security Groups window appears.

  1. In the Edit Security Groups window, click the  icon on the security group.
  1. Click SAVE.

    The Edge Services portal removes the security group from the instance.
