Editing an instance

Use the Edge Services portal to edit details, such as the name and description, for a provisioned Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Azure instance. You can also view details for an instance, view the instances by a specific cloud, lock and unlock an instance, stop, start, or restart the server,  and access the console for the instance. If you no longer need an instance, you can delete it.

To edit an instance:

  1. Click Provisioning, then click Instances.

    The Edge Services portal shows the instances created for your organization.

  1. Click an instance to view more information. 
     
    The Edge Services portal shows details for the instance you selected. Details vary based on the type of instance and your role.

  1. Click EDIT. 
     
    The Edge Services portal shows the Edit Instance window.

  1. In the Edit Instance window, edit the following fields:

 Description
NAME Type a unique name for the instance.
DESCRIPTION Type a unique description for the instance.
ENVIRONMENT Select the environment for the instance. The environment provides a way to segment your instances using labels.
GROUP Select the group associated with the instance.
TAGS Enter a unique tag name and value to each instance for tracking purposes. Tags are name value pairs. For example, type Location for the name, and New Brunswick for the value. To add additional tags, click the icon. To remove tags, click the icon.
LABELS Type a label for instance task organization. This label appears in the instance description on the Instances page.
  1. Click SAVE CHANGES. 
     
    The Edge Services portal edits the instance.
