Locking and unlocking an instance

Use the Edge Services portal to lock or unlock your provisioned Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Azure instance to prevent or allow deletion. You can also edit the details for an instance, stop, start, or restart the server, access the console, or view the details for an instance.

Locking an instance

  1. Click Provisioning, then click Instances.

    The Edge Services portal shows the instances created for your organization.

  1. Click an instance to view more information. 
     
    The Edge Services portal shows details for the instance you selected. Details vary based on the type of instance and your role.

  1. Click ACTIONS, then select Lock.

    The Edge Services portal locks the instance. You cannot delete a locked instance.

Unlocking an instance

Important: Unlocking an instance removes any extra protection against deleting the instance.

  1. Click Provisioning, then click Instances.

    The Edge Services portal shows the instances created for your organization.

  1. Click ACTIONS, then select Unlock.

    The Edge Services portal unlocks the instance. You can now delete the unlocked instance.
