Use the Edge Services portal to provision Lumen public IP network blocks that are required before you provision a bare metal server. Before a bare metal server can be provisioned, a network must be provisioned in that location. Once you configure a network, it can take the Edge Services portal up to five minutes to provision the network to completion. After provisioning completes, the network is available for use and you can select it when provisioning a bare metal server. You can also view network details or delete networks you no longer need.
You cannot edit network configurations. If you need to make changes to a network, you must delete the network and provision a replacement network. Delete all bare metal servers from a network before deleting the network.
To provision a bare metal server network:
|Group||Select Lumen Edge Computing Solutions.|
|Cloud||Select Lumen Edge Computing Solutions.|
|Name||Type a name for the network.|
|Location||Select a physical location for the network. Bare metal servers must be in the same location as the assigned network.|
|Connection Type||Select Internet.|
|Network Size||Select a required network size in CIDR (Classless Inter-Domain Routing) length based on the IP address. Networks can be /29 - /24 where /29 has fewer networks and hosts than /24. A /29 sized network is available for no additional charge. The size of the network determines the number of IP addresses available for server use. Larger CIDR blocks affect the price of the network.|
|Egress Bandwidth||Select a maximum upload speed for clients using the network. There is no fee associated with egress bandwidth.|
