Viewing details for an instance

Use the Edge Services portal to view details for instances provisioned for your organization such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Azure. You can edit the details for an instance, view your instances by a specific cloud, or access the console for an instance. You can lock or unlock an instance, start, stop, or restart your server, and delete it if you no longer need it.

The details page shows the following information:

  • statistics, metrics, and health of the instance
  • details specific to the provisioned instance such as status, name, type, location, and addresses

To view details for an instance:

  1. Click Provisioning, then click Instances.

    The Edge Services portal shows the instances created for your organization.

  1. Click an instance to view more information. 
     
    The Edge Services portal shows details for the instance you selected. Details vary based on the type of instance and your role.

The details page provides the following information about the provisioning and configuration of your instance:

  • The Info section provides a graphical view of the instance metrics, health, and running status. The section also shows the name, environment, operating system, and plan for the instance. You can perform the following actions on the details page:
  • The Info section shows details selected during provisioning including the groups and clouds assigned to the instance, OS configuration information, pricing, and provision time.
     
  • The VMS section shows details specific to the instance including the current status, OS type, and OS version. This section also shows the name of the instance given by the system and IP addresses assigned to the instance.

Summary

When the agent is installed, graphical views of the instance metrics are shown. The toggles at the bottom of the page display the following information:

  • Memory—Shows cache used and the total amount of memory available.

  • Storage—Shows used storage and the total amount available.

  • CPU—Shows virtual CPU (vCPU) usage by system and user.

  • IOPS—Shows IOPS (number of inputs/outputs per second) total or by breakdown of read and write.

  • Network—Shows net transmission (TX) and reception (RX) rate.
Local Storage Provides statistics on the storage aspects of the instance including the number of disks, IOPS, and whether the storage is volume or local.
Network
  • Provides detailed information on the network performance such as:
    • peak bandwidth
    • average bandwidth
    • peak packets received
    • average received
    • peak packets transmitted
    • average transmit of packets
  • Provides the interface to view and edit security groups assigned to the instance
Environment Describes the instance based on the OS image selected, as well as the IP assigned to the instance.
History Displays a historical view of activities associated with the instance.
Console Provides a remote console window showing the activity on the instance. Once the instance is provisioned, the console is connected and gives the user access to their instance.

Log out of the console to terminate the connection.
Build Progress Provides progress on the instance provisioning.
