Transferring a call

The Business Communicator transfer feature lets you send calls to people inside or outside your organization. You can blind transfer, which means you don’t announce the caller before transferring the call. Or you can announce a caller before transferring, called a consultative transfer.

To transfer a call:

  1. With a call in progress, from the active call window, click More (the dialpad icon) on the communication ribbon at the top of the window.

  1. Click Transfer.

  1. In the Search and Dial field, type the extension or 10-digit number using the keys on your computer of the person you want to transfer the call to.

  1. Do one of the following:

    • To transfer the call without announcing the caller, click Transfer Now in the active call window.

      The transfer is complete. If the person doesn’t answer the transfer, the call will go to voicemail.

    • To announce the caller before transferring the call, click Attended Audio; when the person you’re transferring to answers, announce the transfer, then click Complete Transfer (at the top of the active call window),

    • To announce the caller before transferring the call as a video call, click Attended Video; when the person you’re transferring to answers, announce the transfer, then click Complete Transfer,
