Understand your invoice
Your Lumen invoice contains charges for services you've purchased in addition to other important information. Use this page to learn more about how to read your invoice and find the information you need. To view the samples larger, click the images.
The second page of your invoice contains answers to frequently asked questions (FAQ) such as:
- fees and surcharges
- how to access our portal (Learn more about Lumen Connect)
- prorated billing
- credits and adjustments
- dispute submission
- disconnect submission
The third page contains the following information:
- account aging (current through 90+ day buckets)
- charge summary by recurring, non-recurring (one-time), and usage charges
- payments received since last invoice:
- receipt & application date
- invoice number applied against
- receipt number (check, ACH, etc.)
- amount
- outstanding balance by invoice
Taxes, Fees and Surcharges section
This section provides a summary of current month taxes and surcharges. A separate breakdown of taxes, fees and surcharges is also included in the Service Level Activity section of the invoice.
Product Summary section
This section summarizes amounts for each product type and presents usage- and recurring-charge breakouts along with associated taxes, fees, and surcharges.
Usage by Usage Type section
This section summarizes voice usage by usage type and provides the total minutes, counts, and amount for each.
Account Level Charges and Service Level Activity sections
These sections include detailed billing for monthly recurring charges (MRC), non-recurring charges (NRC), and data usage—including the circuit ID and service number.
They also include the charge description, product name, service location address, and billing dates.
