Resetting your Poly SoundPoint series IP phone
Resetting your phone to factory defaults clears the flash parameters and removes log files, user data, and cached data. There are two ways you can reset your SoundPoint series IP phone to the factory settings:
- using a multiple-key combination
- using your phone's menu
Resetting your SoundPoint series IP phone using a multiple-key combination
Depending on your phone model, press and hold the following keys simultaneously during the Updater/BootROM countdown process until the password prompt displays:
- SoundPoint IP 500, 501, 550, 600, and 601 phones: 4, 6, 8, and * dial pad keys
- SoundPoint IP 550, 560, 650, and 670 phones: 4, 6, 8, and * dial pad keys
- SoundPoint IP 321, 331, 335, 450, 5000, and 7000 phones: 1, 3, 5, and 7 dial pad keys
- SoundPoint IP 4000, 6000 phones: 6, 8, and * dial pad keys
Important: The keys must be held for at least three seconds to trigger the special processing in the application.
Resetting your SoundPoint series IP phone using the phone's menu
To reset the SoundPoint IP phone's configuration to the factory defaults using the phone's menu, do the following:
- Press the Menu key.
- Select Settings > Advanced.
- Enter the administrative password, then press the Enter soft key. (By default, this password is 456 or 235711.)
- Select Admin Settings > Reset to Default > Reset Local Config….
- Press the Yes soft key.
