Adding a switched 8XX
You can submit an order to add a switched 8XX in Lumen Connect. Other 8XX ordering options in Lumen Connect include self‑service tools and online order forms (OLOFs). Using Lumen Connect, you can also change or disconnected a Switched 8XX. (You can also order Dedicated 8XX using Lumen Connect.)
To add a switched 8XX order:
- Using the left menu, click Orders, click Manage Orders, then click Add.
- From the Service Type list, select 8XX.
- Select the Switched radio button (in the 8XX Type field).
- From the Customer Account Number list, select the appropriate customer account number. The Customer Account Number is a combination of eight digits identifying a Lumen customer.
- From the Product Account Number list, select the appropriate product account number. Each customer can have multiple product account numbers, each associated with a different customer account number. These product account numbers identify component groupings on the customer’s account.
- In the 8XX field, type the appropriate 8XX combination. (8XX is the term used for toll‑free numbers that include the 800, 888, 877, 866, 855, 844, 833 etc. prefixes.)
- In the RTN field, type the ring to number. The RTN is the ten‑digit phone number to which the 8XX terminates.
- In the End User Name field, type the end user’s name.
- In the LOA Date field, type the date on which the end user authorized long‑distance service for the 8XX. (An 8XX LOA date is outdated after 25 days.)
- From the Restriction list, select the appropriate restriction:
- No Restriction: the 8XX is available from the area you selected from the Routing list.
- Regional by State: the 8XX is available from the state(s) you specify.
- Regional by LATA: the 8XX is available from the LATA(s) you specify.
- Regional by NPA/NXX: the 8XX is available from the NPA/NXX(s) you specify.
- Regional by Area Code: the 8XX is available from the area code(s) you specify.
- No Restriction: the 8XX is available from the area you selected from the Routing list.
Note: A service option form must be submitted to the Service Delivery Center to complete any special restriction requests.
- From the Routing ist, select the appropriate routing option.
- Use the CenturyLink to be RespOrg radio buttons to select whether Lumen is to be the responsible organization.
- From the Current RespOrg ID, select the unique identifier for the appropriate responsible organization (RespOrg).
Note: If you select LGT01, the 8XX number must be in Reserve status.
- From the Complementary option box, select the appropriate option.
- In the Customer Order ID field, type the unique identifier for the order.
- In the Comments field, type any notes you want to add to the order.
- Click Submit Request.
A message pops up with your order confirmation results. You can correct any errors in the order and resubmit it.
- Take a screenshot or make note of the order confirmation results information. (When you click OK, it dismisses the order confirmation information.) The results information is not available for later retrieval, but you can look up the 8XX, ANI or Card on your account in Service Status.
- Click OK.
