Jim Fowler
Jim Fowler is Chief Technology & Product Officer for Lumen. He is responsible for the company’s global technology and product strategy, including the continued evolution of Lumen’s network, digital platforms, and product portfolio.
Fowler has more than 25 years of experience leading large-scale technology transformation at Fortune 100 companies. He previously served as Chief Technology Officer at Nationwide Insurance, leading the modernization of core technology capabilities and driving the digital transformation of enterprise business operations. Prior to Nationwide, Fowler spent nearly two decades at General Electric, holding a series of senior technology leadership roles, including Chief Information Officer. He began his career at AT&T and worked at Accenture before joining GE.
He served on Lumen’s Board of Directors from 2023 to 2025, where he helped shape the company’s transformation strategy and long-term technology roadmap.
Fowler serves on the boards of Miami University’s Farmer School of Business, Columbus State Community College, and YearUp, a national nonprofit focused on workforce development and professional skill-building for young adults.
