DDoS Essentials is an affordable add-on for Lumen Internet On-Demand, offering automated, multi-layered protection against common volumetric DDoS attacks. Powered by near real-time Lumen threat intelligence from Black Lotus Labs®, it provides a simple way to boost network security with a standardized offering and a predefined mitigation template.

DDoS Essentials stands out from other Lumen DDoS protection services, such as DDoS Hyper® and DDoS Mitigation, due to its simplicity.

It is available in a variety of pricing packages and options based on Internet On-Demand bandwidth and term. A non-recurring cost (NRC) is applied when customers add DDoS Essentials to an existing Internet On-Demand service that did not previously have it. If a customer orders both DDoS Essentials and Internet On-Demand together, the NRC charge is waived. In contrast, Lumen DDoS Hyper® and Lumen DDoS Mitigation Service are advanced DDoS mitigation services that offer a flat monthly service rate, regardless of the size, length or frequency of DDoS attacks. To add DDoS Essentials to your existing Internet On-Demand, simply navigate to the Lumen® Control Center portal. From there, you can easily purchase DDoS Essentials as an add-on to your Internet On-Demand service using the digital buying experience. Just check the box to include DDoS Essentials in your service before submitting your order.

With DDoS Essentials, you can protect your network against common volumetric DDoS attacks, no matter the size, and have peace of mind that doesn’t break the bank. This service provides comprehensive reports that show service performance, information on mitigation and details about attacks to stay informed about potential threats. Customers have visibility with real-time monitoring.

DDoS Essentials customers have access to robust reporting through the Lumen Control Center. The reporting shows real-time and historical performance of the service, as well as details on past mitigations and alerts. This allows customers to stay informed about potential threats and access additional information on DDoS attacks and mitigation countermeasures.
