Deleting a Network Storage node

If you no longer need a node on a Lumen® Network Storage service, you can delete it using Control Center. Before you can delete the node, you must first delete all volumes on the node.

Note: Any associated replica volumes must be deleted before you can delete a primary volume. Disconnect iSCSI volumes on the host before deleting the volume.

To delete a Network Storage node:

  1. Click Services.

    Control Center shows the Services console. Use the console to access an inventory of your services, check the status of orders, and manage your services.

  1. In the Edge Services box, click Network Storage.

    Control Center shows a list of storage nodes for your organization (if any) with the name, location status, and total provisioned storage for each node.

  1. Select the Network Storage node you want to work with by doing one of the following:

    • Click the link in the Node Name column.

    • On the row for the node, click (in the Actions column), then click Details.

Control Center shows details for the node: location, volumes on the node (with a status for each), and the interface pool for each volume.

  1. Do one of the following:

    • If there are volumes on the node, follow steps 4–6 to delete the volumes first.

    • If there are no volumes on the node, skip to step 7.
  1. On the row next to the volume(s) on the node, click (in the Actions column), then click Delete.
  1. In the confirmation window that appears, click Delete.

    Control Center changes the status of the volume to Deleting. Depending on details for the volume (e.g., size and activity), this process might take some time. Check the volume every few minutes until the process completes. Once the process completes, Control Center removes the volume from the list of volumes on the node.
  1. Repeat steps 4 and 5 to remove any remaining volumes on the node.
  1. When you've deleted all the volumes on the node (and Control Center has removed then from the Volumes subtab), click the Adaptive Storage tab.

  1. On the row for the node you want to delete, click the icon (in the Actions column), then click Delete.
  1. In the confirmation window that appears, click Delete.

    Control Center changes the status of the node to Configuring and starts deleting the node. Depending on the size and activity of the node, this process could take some time. Check the node every few minutes until the process completes. Once Control Center finishes deleting the node, it removes the node from the list of nodes on the Adaptive Storage tab.
