Using the function buttons on your phone (VVX 3xx/4xx series)

Function buttons allow you to use a headset or speakerphone, plus features such as mute and volume settings.

Headset button

To use the headset button:

  1. To answer an incoming call, press the Headset button.

    The Headset button glows solid green to let you know your headset is active.
  1. To disconnect a call while using your headset, press the Headset button again.

Speakerphone button

All phones have speaker capabilities. If you start a call using the handset, you can move to the headset or speakerphone by pressing the Headset or Speakerphone button, then return the handset to the cradle. To move a call from your speakerphone to your handset, simply lift the handset.

To use the speakerphone button:

  1. To answer an incoming call, press the Speakerphone button.

    The Speakerphone button glows solid green to let you know your speakerphone is on.
  1. To disconnect a call while using speakerphone, press the Speakerphone button again.

Mute button

Microphones are very sensitive, We recommend you mute your phone while on a conference call or if you need to speak to others around you. When you mute your phone, you continue to hear people on the call, but they will not hear you.

To use the mute button:

  1. While on an active call, press the Mute button.

    The Mute button glows red when the phone is muted.
  1. To unmute a call, press the Mute button again.

Volume control

Adjust volume levels by pressing the + or – on the volume control. When you increase or decrease the volume, it remains at that setting until you change it again (or until your phone reboots). If your phone reboots, all volume settings return to their default levels. Use the volume control button (located below the keypad) to control volume levels for the following: 

 

  • incoming call ring volume—press the + or  button while your phone is idle or ringing

  • handset volume—press the + or  button while you’re using your handset on a call or by lifting the handset while your phone is idle

  • Speakerphone volume—press the + or  button while using the speaker on a call or by pressing the Speakerphone button while your phone is idle

  • headset volume—press the + or  button while using your headset on a call or by pressing the Headset button while your phone is idle
