Use Lumen® Edge Service Manager to create an alert rule. Add recipients to multiple alert rules with different delivery methods depending on the rule. For example, configure an alert rule to notify recipients through email for lower severity incidents and SMS for critical incidents. You can also edit and delete alert rules.
To create an alert rule:
|Name||Type a name for the alert rule.|
|Trigger when severity level reaches||Select the severity level which triggers the notification.|
|Minimum Duration (Minutes)||Select the amount of time, in minutes, to delay notification sending. Select 0 for immediate notification.|
|Active||Select to activate the alert rule.|
|Add||Type the names of apps, checks, or groups to add to the alert rule.|
|Apps section||Select apps to add to the alert rule.|
|Checks section||Select checks to add to the alert rule.|
|Groups section||Select groups to add to the alert rule.|
Type names to add recipients to an alert rule.

|METHOD||Select a delivery method for the notification. The available delivery methods depend on the recipient’s contact information configuration.|
|NOTIFY ON CHANGE||Select to notify the recipient when the situation status changes.|
|NOTIFY ON CLOSE||Select to notify the recipient when the alert ends.|
